Teachers’ Corner

I taught 3rd-6th grade for 8 years, and during that time I have found that engaged students make the best learners! Anyone can learn if it is presented in a way that reaches them!

Technology, real world connections, and games make my classroom one that students have gone home and raved about! On this page, you will see some of my strategies, resources, and other useful info!

Curated Math Content

Half of my time in the classroom has been in 4th grade classesrooms. For the last 3 years that I taught, I created and used this website as a place for my students to see videos and have access to links to practice the skills I was currently teaching.

Here is a 4th Grade Resources for by Unit for a TX Classroom. Each line in this plan links to a resource page that I would use with my students. These pages include videos, iXL or Khan Academy practice, as well as other resources that were useful to my students.

Video Content

Videos

My YouTube Channel has a vast array of math tutorial videos for 4th and 5th graders. If I don’t find a video that I like to pre-teach my students a particular skill, then I will make my own. Some of these videos incorporate humor, and others focus primarily on teaching the skill.

Here are other videos producers that I love to use in my classroom.

  • Math Antics for engaging video tutorials
  • Khan Academy for video tutorials and practice problems
  • NumbeRock (Math Song Videos) for great content with a great beat
